Welcome to my practice and welcome to your wellness journey. I have been blessed to have the opportunity to work with clients of many different backgrounds and clinical presentations. I have been a therapist, substance abuse counselor, consultant, supervisor, mentor, adjunct professor and organizational leader. Through it all, I have been a student of the human experience. I bring a wealth of knowledge, passion and respect to each new professional endeavor.
I received my Master's and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from the Illinois School of Professional Psychology and I have been a clinician in Chicagoland for over 20 years. Throughout this time I have continued to hone my craft and I am proud to say that each and every experience informs the work I do today. In therapy, I am prepared to support my clients through a process of self exploration and skill building while helping them uncover their unique talents and potential. As you may well know, therapy is not a place for advice giving. Therapy is a place to understand yourself, how you're experienced by others, how to relate effectively and how to make decisions grounded in a place of authenticity.
Therapy is also a place for psycho-education and skill building. Very often, I find myself imparting information on such topics as effective communication, authentic decision-making, self care and various mental illness. I believe in healing for the mind, body and spirit. To that end, I am also interested in your physical health (diet, exercise, sleep hygiene) and your spiritual life. Exploration, intervention and referrals in these domains will be an important part of the process.
Outside of the therapy space, I work as an administrator and consultant. This expansion of professional opportunities has required that I continue my education and acquire additional skills in strategic planning, leadership and change management. I am passionate about diversity, equity, access and inclusion in personal, professional and academic environments. If you are prepared to begin your journey, feel free to contact my office. If you have additional questions before you begin, please call or email. I would be happy to speak with you to determine if my practice will meet your needs. In the meantime, be well.
